Mr. Heuser's Vokis

Mr. Heuser's class created Vokis to share some information about themselves. Dan modeled the creation process and set the students free to create!  In a one hour class his students created their Voki
and typed in their information.  When you ask a student to read aloud their writing they often supplement the written word with what they intended to express.   The Voki is literal.  Many students found they were missing words and punctuation. If word you type in do not include commas, periods, question marks, etc.... it will simply be a jumble of monotone words. All 28 students were able to publish their Voki in the one hour class period.

This was a great lesson.  An example of best practice with the technology supporting the student and their work. At the same time, the students got a taste of a fun tech tool that allows for individual expression.  Thanks to Mr. Heuser and his students
